Larry Bernard Jones

Larry B. Jones, age 70, of Bruceton, TN, passed away March 21, 2015, at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 19, 1945, in Camden, TN, to John Buford and Maudelle Jones, who predecease him. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Norma (Barnes) Jones; a daughter, Kimberly (Bob) Pulley; a son, Larry Scott Jones; 2 granddaughters, Jackie and Kalyn Jones; 2 grandsons, Jeremy (Amy) Byars and Tristen Jones; a brother, Ronald (Alicia) Jones; a sister, Glenda (Kenneth) Carter; his "Uncle Bud" Leonard (Mary Jo) Medlin; numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. Larry was a graduate of Camden Central High, and after graduation went to work for the L&N (now CSX) railroad. He was quickly promoted and became the youngest engineer on the railroad. He was transferred to Memphis then to Bruceton where he spent the majority of his 42 year career. He was a gifted athlete and a talented musician. While in high school he played football, basketball, and was also in the band. He could play practically any musical instrument. He was an avid golfer and a good one. He was past president of Camden's Magic Valley Golf Club. He was also a faithful member of BPO Elks Lodge # 215. But most of all he was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Steadfast Friend to his buddies.
